Our Story

Located in the beautiful Midlands, Stanley Biggs is a heritage clothing brand, unashamedly inspired by the past, in both style and spirit.
It is the pioneers from as early as the 20th Century as well as the modern day dandy, that provide a constant source of inspiration to our range of knitwear, shirts, caps and apparel.
Both tradition and quality flow through the very heart of what we do; bringing together the finest in British manufacturing, textiles and design resulting in a range of unique and versatile clothing that will last you a life time.

In 1919, Stanley Douglas Biggs was born in London. He joined up at the outbreak of the Second World War, serving as a medical orderly in 181 Airlanding Field Ambulance Unit, Royal Army Medical Corps. His unit was part of the Airlanding Forces that took part in the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944. Tragically, he succumbed to his wounds on 25th September 1944 and is buried in Oosterbeek Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.

It is in his memory that the brand was created by founder, Sophie Bainbridge

Amazingly, Stanley was filmed on 18th September 1944. He is seen standing on the left in the photograph.

Starting life in 2019, it has been an entertaining ride so far here at HQ and we continue to have the privilege of meeting and working with wonderfully talented people.

After a busy, eventful and successful first year, the brand was finding its stride when the Coronavirus outbreak hit – and we all know about the harsh consequences and experiences many have had since.

However, we are pleased to say that Stanley Biggs Clothiers has customers based all over the world, is beginning to work with other global outlets across the globe, and has been recognised by some of the highest regarded fashion publications - not bad for the year that was 2020.

Please enjoy the collections and feel free to join our journey. It would be our pleasure.
